Annie Hoogendoorn is one of those rare talents that finds her niche early in her career and is really REALLY good at what she shoots. I met Annie at a lower-east-side show in NYC several years ago. A staple to many of the local clubs (band venues), I had never seen her before. Annie, this beautiful, blonde, confident, curious, friendly woman, walked up to me and asked if I was a photographer…totally bizarre; still to this day I’m not sure how she knew that. We became fast friends and I got a small glimpse into the life of a band/music photographer in NYC. It was exciting, enthralling, crazy, fun, young…it was quintessential rock n’ roll. Annie was living the dream!
Annie currently resides in Amsterdam, Holland and has gained serious recognition, award, and awesome opportunity because of her work and talent. She regularly tours with musicians and bands to photograph on the road. Annie’s work is edgy, provocative, indicative of youth, and has a fleeting sense of nostalgia and longing. There is something…you can’t quite put your finger on.
